The journey of life is full of ups and downs with many aspects of joy, sadness, hope, excitement, and frustration. How we handle those hills and valleys is as unique as life itself.
Maybe my story will give some insight to many mistakes and perhaps even provide a chance to glean some wisdom from the victories.
Make the Journey Count eBook Rose Newman
I'll start with three observations:1) This is an excellent example of a good book which may be over-looked because the puzzling title, generic cover picture, and vague book description don't really tell the prospective buyer what the book is about.
2) I think this is a "woman's book" because it contains a great deal of minute details about family life that will be interesting to most women, but not so much for a man.
3) The author writes about her life as a Christian. This will be of interest to you if you are a person of faith and I think there's much to like about the book even if you skip over those parts. If you are offended by religion or religious people, don't buy this one.
Although Mrs. Newman is only about ten years older than I, her stories of growing up in a small village in Wales remind me of my parents' lives growing up in the American South in the 1920's and 1930's. She writes very well and her tales of Welsh life are completely charming. As a young woman, she emigrated with her family to eastern Canada and her fiance (obviously determined not to lose her) came along. She writes of their long marriage, the joys and stresses of raising children, jobs, illnesses, houses, the sorrow of losing parents, and the satisfaction of retirement and becoming grandparents. Nothing earth-shaking, but then life seldom is.
This author and her family seem like intelligent, hard-working, and good-hearted folks. It's a pleasure to get to know them.
